Retro Wildlands #9 - Resident Evil 2

Most consider Resident Evil 2 to be the best in the franchise and a staple in the survival horror genre.  I'm here to tell you that is 100% spot on.  A game that I argue still holds up today, RE2 took the amazing game that was Resident Evil for the Playstation and improved upon it in every way.  I can't tell you how many hours I've put into this game growing up.
Join me by the campfire as I regale you with the story of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they try and survive the undead horrors in the doomed town of Raccoon City.  They were parted by an unescapable destiny.  This was just the beginning of their worst nightmare...

Retro Wildlands #8 - Metroid: Zero Mission

Regarded as "the" definitive way to play the original Metroid from the Nintendo Entertainment System, Metroid: Zero Mission is a beautiful remake that serves as the perfect entryway into the Metroid universe. 
Come settle in by the fire while I share my thoughts on this game and how Metroid was always that one game franchise I always wanted to get into, but just missed it growing up.  And why Samus Aran is one of the coolest cats around!

I consider Silent Hill a masterpiece in video games and its arguably the gold standard in horror.  It's a game series that evokes excitement and adventure in some and terror in others.  What makes the game special to me is that I feel all of that at once...Come take a load off as I regale you with stories of my travels into that fog filled town.  I guarantee you when I'm done, you'll feel that unexplainable pull that draws so many people to it.  Welcome, to Silent Hill.

Retro Wildlands #6 - Star Fox

In 1993, Star Fox burst on the scene in spectacular fashion by showing off the graphical processing power of the revolutionary Super FX graphics chip!  No longer did visuals have to be in 2D.  Not only did Star Fox push the limits of the SNES console, it was a pretty stellar on-rails shooter that I spend many hours with as a young Nomad.  Join me by the fire this week as we barrel roll straight into danger and boost towards victory as we save the Lylat System from Andross!

Every great game franchise begins somewhere and this is where the Castlevania franchise started all the way back in 1986!  You play as Simon Belmont in this one-of-a-kind for the time platformer where you battle through waves of demons and vampires to confront Dracula and put an end to his evil reign once and for all!I have never played this game before and suddenly got an itch last week.  Join me by the campfire as I regal you with stories of demon slaying!

We all have that one game that just brings back a flood of good memories and waves of nostalgia just by looking at it, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles In Time almost always fits that bill for most gamers, and certainly fits the bill for me!  Come take a load off and I'll share with you some of my memories growing up with this game, my thoughts on it as an adult and sprinkle in some of that amazing music while we're at it!  Cowabunga!

Considered by many to be the best Zelda game and arguably one of the best video games of all time, I've finally completed A Link to the Past 30 years after it's initial release.  In today's episode, I talk about my experiences with the game, why it took me so long to get this one under my belt and how I now know why so many people consider this game one of their all time favorites.  Because it's one of mine now.
